How can I set up utilities?

Setting up your utilities is crucial for getting access to amenities like water, electricity, gas, and internet in your home. You can easily set up utilities and review available utility providers for your address in the Utilities section.

To see utilities requested by the landlord, open the “Utilities” page from the left side menu and click on the “Set up“ option near the requested utility:

You’ll see a pop-up window with detailed utility-related information. View the list of providers assigned to your address. Select one provider company and create an account on their website.

In the “Provider company” field you can select only one provider. You can also select the “Other“ option and add a company not found on the list.

Contact each provider separately using the utility provider contact info within the link to set up your utilities.

Be prepared to have the following information ready:

  • Your service address
  • Lease start date
  • Proof of identity (e.g., driver’s license)
  • Social Security Number (if required)
  • Meter Number (You may need to ask your property manager for this if needed.)

Once you create an account with the provider, ask the provider for your Account ID and confirm the Activation Date for your utilities.

Enter that account ID below to confirm you’ve activated your utility account.

If no account ID is available, you can select the “No account ID” check box and upload proof of activation by clicking “Upload file”:

Then click the “Save“ button.

If no utilities are listed, make sure to reach out to your property manager or landlord for clarification. They can help you answer the following questions:

  • Which utilities are requirements for the tenants to set up
  • Any specific providers they recommend or require
  • Any utilities that may already be included with your rent
