How can I pay rent with a credit/debit card?
Your landlord/property manager will need to set up Online Payments on their end, so you will be able to pay rent and other invoices with a credit/debit card. If you don’t see the above payment method it means that your landlord has not set up it yet or the account is going through the verification process.
Please note!
You as a tenant don't need to set up online payments if you want to pay with a credit or debit card.
To pay your rent, please go to Dashboard, then click “Pay Online” - and pay all open invoices at once, OR simply open one needed invoice from the Transactions list and pay just the separate invoice.
After clicking on "Checkout" you will be able to choose how you would like to pay. Select the “Credit Card” or "Debit Card" option. Enter your card number, expiration date, and CVC. Fill in the necessary fields ("Cardholder name" and "Billing address"). Click “Submit Payment” to confirm the action.
You may also save the card for your following rent payments, so you don’t need to fill in all information every time.
Please note!
A 3.5% + $0.30 convenience fee per transaction is applied when paying with a credit/debit card
Important:
The 3.5% + $0.30 fee is calculated based on the final processing amount, including the fee, not just the invoice amount.
You may calculate the total charge amount (including fees) using the following formula:
Final charge = (Total invoice amount + $0.30) / (1 - 3.5/100) = (Total invoice amount + $0.30) / 0.965
Example #1:
You need to pay the rent invoice for $1000. In this case, the final charge from your card will be:
($1000 + $0.30) / 0.965 = $1000.30 / 0.965 = $1036.58
Example #2:
You need to pay the rent invoice for $625, the pet fee for $70, and the utility bill for $28.30. In this case, the final charge from your card will be:
($625 + $70 + $28.30 + $0.30) / 0.965 = $723.60 / 0.965 = $749.84
