Can I still request a screening if a tenant does not apply online?

Updated this week

Yes, you can still request a screening if a tenant does not apply online.

Please note! The screening is available for US residents only.

To quickly screen a potential tenant, open the Listings & Applications page from the Property Operations left-side menu and switch to the Applications or Screenings tab.

Click on the “Screen tenant” button. This action will automatically create a new empty application for this prospective tenant once the request is sent.

You can request the screening directly from the application that you manually created.

To do so, go to the “Applications” tab, open the needed application, select the Screenings tab and push the “Screen Tenant” button.

On the next step you can request the Full Check ($40) screening package powered by TransUnion. Full Check is part of the standard Essential coverage package or can be expanded to include the Premium coverage package for an additional $5.

For additional income details, you can request income verification from an applicant. To proceed, enable the toggle and click "Continue" on the "Screen tenant" process. You can also do it later - just select the “Income Verification” sub-tab and click the “Request verification” button from the needed application.

The following guides will be helpful:

You can select who’ll pay for the report - yourself or the applicant.

Provide the required information and click on the Submit request button.

The applicant will receive an email and will need to create an account (if they don't already have one) or log into their existing account. They can then complete the form and verify their identity.

You can track the status of ordered screening reports on the Screenings page or the "Applications" page. Hover over the screening to view a tooltip that provides more information about the current status.

After an applicant completes all required steps, the screening will appear as Available. You can find the report by viewing the application and switching to its respective tab. To view the report fully, click the "View report" button to generate it. The report will be available for 30 days for the landlord and applicant.
