How do I add a tenant to the existing lease?

You can add a new tenant to the existing lease by simply editing the lease and using the add co-tenant option on the Property and Tenants step of the move-in process.

To save the changes, click "Next step" and pass all the required steps of the lease. You can also request Renters insurance on the Insurance step and send the lease agreement for e-signature on the last step of the move-in process.

The tenant who has just been added to the lease will receive a notification that the lease has been shared.

Please note!

  • Once you have added a new tenant to the lease and your tenants pay individually, make sure that split rent amounts are divided with the tenant's exact portion.  Each tenant will only see the invoice with their portion of the payment and will be responsible for paying it;
  • The updated rent and other recurring invoices will be posted to all your tenant's accounting page with the rent invoice next publish date;
  • Previous lease invoices are not visible to the new tenant.
