How do I connect with my tenant and share the lease?

Updated over a week ago

To share a lease, accept payments online, receive maintenance requests, send messages, and exchange files inside the system, a landlord or property manager needs to be connected with a tenant.

In TenantCloud, landlords are responsible for uploading and sharing leases, while tenants can only view shared leases and related invoices. This ensures clarity and proper documentation for both parties.

You can connect and share the lease on the move-in page. For that, leave a toggle button for the "Free Tenant Portal" enabled on the second step of the lease creation process.

If the tenant is not on your contacts list, please add them as a contact first.

You may also send a connection request and share a lease later. For that, open the Renters page from the Property Operations left-side menu and switch to the Renters tab to see tenants list. Then, choose the tenant by clicking on the "View profile" button.

Select the "Send connection" option from the Actions menu. Confirm your choice.

Please note!
Tenant(s) will receive an email in their mailbox. They must create an account and accept the connection request on their end using the email invitation. Check this instructional link:

Tip:
A green icon to the right of your tenant’s name means you’re connected, while a gray circle means you are not connected or the invitation is still pending.

Switch to the Leases tab and click "View" on the needed lease card. Then, click "Share" next to the tenant's name.

You can also share a lease with new tenants while adding them to the lease during editing:
