How do I require my tenant to sign the agreement electronically?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

We provide an E-signature/Initials feature, which allows you to send any agreements or notices to your tenants to be digitally signed.

Once you create a lease, you’ll see the “Well done“ pop-up window. Click on the “Request e-signature“ button to proceed:

Select the lease agreement templates added before by clicking on the "Use template" option, or copy/paste your own verbiage by clicking on “+Create new template.”

Simply drag the Signature/Initials and drop where the document should be signed:

You can select who is supposed to sign the specific clause by clicking on the “Assigned to” option, and that specific tenant will be able to provide the signature/initials on that field:

Signature/Initials Rules

  • You can require a signature or initials from your tenant(s) after each clause by assigning the appropriate element to them.

  • Signature/initials fields can be reassigned to yourself or to other tenants as needed.

  • You can choose which template to use and which parties are required to sign or initial.

  • To remove a signature or initials field, press the Delete key on your keyboard or click "Remove" in the right-hand menu.

If you also want to include your signature/initials on a certain agreement clause, drag the element and assign it to yourself. Type or draw in your signature.

Note! If you are connected with a tenant(s), the lease will automatically be shared and sent to sign.

You can also enable the "Default Signatures" option, and the system will automatically add signatures, date signed and assign them to all your tenants at the bottom of the current agreement. It is possible to edit the added elements according to your own needs.

If you would like to add such a table to another part of the lease agreement, simply copy and paste it to the needed place. You can also disable the toggle of default signatures, and the system automatically deletes the table with automatic signatures/date signed.

You can add additional documents to sign by using the "+ Add" option:

Note: up to 20 templates can be sent to sign.

Press "Send to review" once the documents are ready:

Note! The default signature option can be adjusted for each agreement selected on the lease, but only for a text editor.

You can also request an e-signature after the lease becomes active. To do so, navigate to the Renters page → Leases tab → click on the needed lease, then open the Agreements & Notices tab and click on the “Request” link in the Lease Agreements section.

If the lease is in draft status, click Actions → Edit to make necessary changes and then choose Send to review before tenants can sign. You can also Cancel the draft lease and start from scratch:

Once tenants sign the lease, you'll be notified, and the “Lease Agreements” section will have a "Signed" status.

To edit the Lease agreement, please click on the “Actions“ link in the “Lease Agreements” section. You may edit the lease in the pending and signed statuses and send it to your tenants for review.
